Ahhh - are you the kind that thinks it is all a consumer con? Hallmark promo? After all the rockiness of last year I think any old reason to celebrate love is amazing! And the day is not just about 'love' and 'secret admirers' it is about showing respect and appreciation to your better half, making sure they know that they're important to you!
Valentine's day originated as a day of feasting to honor two early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine... The day has continued to evolve and to instigate love and affection throughout the ages!
Given that the day falls on a Sunday this year, you can celebrate with your significant other in many ways - dinner, weekend away, long breaky, early morning run together etc.! Just be sure to include flowers though! Doesn't have to be red roses, it can be a beautiful seasonal bouquet or a flower picked out of the garden. This year we are open Saturday and Sunday and we will have loads of roses, fresh bouquets, dried flowers and plants in store!
